10 Business Lessons – john de titta

April 30, 2009

Encourages others to share start-up stories lessons not learned in school in forum.

Starting a business takes many pieces to come together. The process begins with the founder who has to have the confidence and energy to make it happen and their ideas formed, and then put into implementation.

Ten Lessons learned has been launched to help address and prepare for the startup lessons that are overlooked many times.  A great idea is just the beginning, there has to be a marketing plan, business plan, legal structure, accounting and many additional preparedness that are many times overlooked by the creative mind that starts the business.

The lessons can be found on http://www.johndetitta.net and additional lessons from other entrepreneurs are encouraged through the forum available.  It’s a positive forum for those starting a business and those who have been through the process and learned.

“I created johndetitta.net ten lessons learned as a insider look at things that can happen with a business not usually learned in the classroom.”John  DeTitta, the creator explains. “It took me twenty years of great ideas and start-ups to finally get it right and I simply wanted to share what I learned with other entrepreneurs to help them in their journey”

Finding that creative time – john de titta

The morning comes no matter how hard we try to push it aside. It comes full force back into our lives. I had once hired a motivation coach who would say to me “Mr. John De Titta you must embrace the morning with a deep breath and motivation”, sounds great I will have to try it sometime. To me a good day begins around 10:00-11:00am after a few pots of coffee as many nights usually last until the day and get crossed in purpose somewhere.

It’s not all about staying late and partying those days have diminished greatly, the night when everyone is asleep provides a peaceful beacon of creativity, a place where thoughts are free to form ideas a place to be free. It’s like taking the mind our for a walk with no one screaming at you for letting you mind loose in their yard.

I have a friend of mine who gets up each and every day at 5:30 am. It hurts just to think about it. Why would anyone waste those precious moments of sleep to be awake? Turns out she goes to bed around 9:00pm each night and looks forward for the morning. It’s a concept I don’t understand though and completely foreign to me. When I questioned her on the matter, she explained John DeTitta, (she called me by name) that early mornings allow her that “quiet, peaceful time to think”. Now that makes sense to me I just believe there is a better direction of getting there.

No matter how an individual finds the time, it’s imperative to our minds and souls to find that time away from everyone and everything else to think. Allowing the creativity to take control of our thoughts and new ideas is formed. I think of how many thoughts are suffocated with outside distractions and the constant growth of an individual stymied due to noise and distractions.

To me, while I fight the mornings they inspire the thoughts that were formed the night before. That is after a good couple of pots of coffee and some breakfast.
